


In 1973 over 2,000 Arab American, Rank-and-file UAW workers walked off the job in Detroit, Michigan, protesting UAW’s purchase of “Israeli” bonds.
After a sustained struggle, The Arab Workers Caucus were able to convince locals to divest from “israeli” bonds, even though national UAW leadership refused. In the end, they gained over $48,000 in divestments, which equals over $280,000 today.
