Action needed: Sign to endorse this Ethics Complaint to the Office of the Executive Inspector General (OEIG) for the Illinois State Treasurer for purchasing Israeli bonds.
We are submitting a formal complaint to the Executive Inspector General to investigate allegations of misconduct made against the State of Illinois and its tax-paying citizens.
The allegation of unethical conduct is against Michael Frerichs, Illinois State Treasurer. Frerichs has invested $30 million dollars in Israel Bonds after the start of the genocide in October 2023. Now after more than 45,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly children, women & the elderly, Frerichs has planned to renew $15 million or so.
The violation allegations include: abuse of authority, corruption, improper use of state time and other resources for prohibited political purposes, and misuse of public assets.

There is substantial evidence that Israel is using the bonds for funding of Genocide.
Israel has been an apartheid state since 1967. The health ministry of Gaza Strip has reported 45,885 deaths on January 7, 2025, since October 7, 2023. A further 109,196 individuals have been injured. Israel has forcibly removed Palestinians from their homes and land. Israel continues to occupy Palestinian land and has since then continued to commit acts of Genocide, scholasticide, and ecocide. Since October 7th, Israel has dropped the equivalent of two nuclear bombs onto the Gaza Strip, where 2.5 million people, including one million children live in a 25-mile “open-air prison,” (July 2023, UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights). Israel is starving Gaza, restricting vital fuel, water, and food along with bombing schools, mosques, hospitals, homes, and refugee camps. The health ministry of Gaza Strip has reported 45,885 deaths on January 7, 2025 since October 7, 2023. A further 109,196 individuals have been injured.
