Protestors on Tuesday are on Detroit’s east side at the UAW Solidarity House calling for the union to divest from Israel.

This comes before the UAW’s International Executive Board meets in Detroit this week. Protest organizers say they want to increase the pressure on union leaders to divest bonds from Israel in connection with the Israel-Hamas War.

Protest workers are asking marchers to remember the 1973 protest when around 2,000 Detroit auto workers, led by Arab Americans, walked off their jobs at Chrysler’s Dodge Main plant, demanding that the union divest from Israel.
