It’s the first official day of business at the 46th AFSCME International Convention in Los Angeles, CA. Today, G4F’s resolution, No. 46, “AFSCME International Stands Against the Ongoing Genocide of the Palestinian People” is facing its first major hurdle, as it must be approved by a vote from the floor to be admitted for consideration.
We know what we’re up against, but we have faith in our union siblings and draw strength from our solidarity. As proceedings get underway in the hall, we stand by the sentiment echoed by AFSCME UNAC/UHCP member and Los Angeles resident Alaa Abou-Arab: “An injury to One is an injury to All.”
