Jeanette Vizguerra – a longtime National Domestic Workers Alliance member who has lived her life fighting for workers and immigrants – was just detained by ICE without warning.
Jeanette is a mother, grandmother, and Colorado community leader who has always wanted what all mothers want – safety for her family, herself, and her community.

Jeanette was targeted by immigration authorities in 2017 and spent three months living in sanctuary in a Denver church to avoid being deported and separated from her family.
Since then, she’s supported hundreds of other mothers and workers with their own fights to remain, even being recognized as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world for her work.
After living in the US for 30 years, Jeanette now faces deportation to Mexico and separation from her children. These attacks are intended to provoke fear and silence our advocacy. But we will not allow our families and communities to be cruelly torn apart. We will protect each other.

Jeanette Vizguerra, miembra de la Alianza Nacional de Trabajadoras del Hogar desde hace mucho tiempo y líder en la lucha por los derechos de les trabajadores e inmigrantes, acaba de ser detenida por agentes de inmigracion (o ICE por su siglas en inglés) sin aviso previo.
Jeanette es madre, abuela y líder comunitaria de Colorado que siempre ha deseado lo que toda madre desea: seguridad para su familia, para ella misma y para su comunidad.
Jeanette fue blanco de las autoridades migratorias en 2017 y pasó tres meses refugiada en una iglesia de Denver para evitar ser deportada y separada de su familia.
Desde entonces, ha apoyado a cientos de otras madres y trabajadoras en sus propias luchas para permanecer, e incluso ha sido reconocida como una de las 100 personas más influyentes del mundo por la revista Time por su trabajo.
