Boycott the Anti-Defamation League
Support Arab American students
Support academic freedom and First Amendment rights
Launch education efforts on social justice boycotts – an important step toward BDS

Michigan Divest commends the NEA for supporting Palestine and moving in the direction of BDS. We urge the MEA – the Michigan affiliate of the NEA and Michigan’s largest public employee union – to support Palestine and demand that the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System (MPSERS) divest from Israel Bonds.

In November 2023, during the genocide in Gaza, the State of Michigan Retirement System (which includes MPSERS) purchased a $10 million Israel Bond with teachers’ and other public employees’ pensions. This Israel bond matures in November 2025. Michigan Divest demands the State of Michigan Retirement System decline to reinvest these funds into another Israel bond after maturity. Teachers’ pensions should not be funding genocide.
