The Bronx Defenders Union-UAW Local 2325 Executive Board condemns the violent ICE raids as well as Columbia University’s expulsions, degree revocations, and all other targeted attacks on our fellow union siblings at UAW Local 2710, @sw_columbia.
As a labor union, we oppose ICE arrests of all workers. Our work in public defense has shown us ICE as a federal agency deliberately targets working class people.
As public defenders both of and for the working class we again refuse to be silent in the face of injustice and reaffirm our public defense of Palestinian lives and the Palestine solidarity movement.
We urge all workers to act in solidarity with the Student Workers of Columbia in calling for the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil and Leqaa Kordia as well as the reinstatement of all Columbia students, including Ranjani Srinivasan and Grant Miner.
As UAW members in @uawregion9a, we call on all UAW Region 9A workers to organize solidarity actions in support of @uaw.union and non-UAW workers targeted by ICE.
From Palestine to El Salvador,
From Rikers Island to Guantanamo Bay,
From the river to the sea,
No deportations on stolen land.
