Healthcare Workers for Palestine in Maine and their community members gathered outside Maine Medical Center in Portland to hold a vigil for the over 1000 medical professionals targeted by Israel and the estimated 200,000 killed in the genocide in Gaza.
This is part of a call by @healthcareworkersforpalestine for rolling vigils in front of major hospitals and medical institutions as well as the call by @laborforpalestine for escalating labor mobilizations October 7th, 21st and November 4th and throughout the month.
Palestinians have called for strikes in October and asked people to march on their hospitals. Maine healthcare workers heeded these calls and will continue to demand an end to the silence of our institutions and an immediately arms embargo on Israel.
