The Road to UAW Divestment: Fighting for Palestine Solidarity through Shop Floor Militancy
In June 2026, the UAW took an historic vote to divest from Israel bonds. Unite All Workers for Democracy (UAWD) and UAWLabor4Palestine, the organizations that led the campaign, hosted an event about this victory and the ongoing struggle for solidarity with Palestinian trade unions.
This event featured UAW shop floor leaders who shared how they’ve organized in their workplaces for Palestine solidarity over the years to build power. We also heard from UAWD leaders who led the fight for divestment at June’s UAW Constitutional Convention.
