Hamdan Ballal’s assault and detainment after winning an Oscar for his documentary film, No Other Land – which exposes the horror of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, and the silence of Hollywood leaders – @theacademy, @sagaftra, @directorsguild in the face of it are all only a pin in the broader wave of facism spreading nationwide.
At a time when governments are sending militarized police to arrest, kidnap, and deport political dissenters in broad daylight, it’s time to say enough is enough. Join us today at 1pm in front of the Academy to stand with Ballal!
The time to act is now. Speak up, Protest, Disrupt.
