On October 24, 2025 a protest was called at the AFL-CIO DC HQ to demand a labor boycott of Israel to stop the genocide. Chris Smalls, the former leader of the Amazon workers in New York had been on the flotilla to Gaza and was captured along with others by the IDF. He was beaten while in Israeli prison and also sent to Jordan instead of being allowed to leave Israel through the airport. He spoke at the AFL-CIO and demanded that it act to stop the genocide by supporting a labor blockade of Israel.
