Dockworkers do not work for war!
No worker should work for war!
This day of action demonstrates the power of the organised working class to disrupt the war machine by blocking the transport of war materiel and strengthening the struggle against imperialist war.
We condemn the genocide of the Palestinian people perpetrated by the State of Israel, with the support of the USA, NATO, the EU and the governments that collaborate with it. We also condemn the shameful blockade of Cuba and other forms of imperialist aggression.
We are fighting against militarisation plans and the transformation of ports and strategic infrastructure into military staging grounds and transit corridors for war materiel.
At the same time, we oppose the use of automation by corporate groups to impose job cuts, intensify workloads and undermine workers’ rights. We demand that the potential of science and technology be harnessed to reduce working hours, raise wages, guarantee secure employment, and protect workers’ health and safety.
🔴 Dock and port workers will certainly not be alone on 30 October!
Strikes have been called across multiple sectors and industries in many countries for 30 October, including a general strike in Italy. We call on workers and trade unions in every sector to organise similar actions, strengthening our common struggle against involvement in war and exploitation.
30 October is a historic day of struggle with global significance. It can mark an important step towards strengthening international trade union coordination and internationalist solidarity.
This is the path we will continue along the following morning, with more workers, more ports, more sectors and more countries joining the struggle. By building stronger trade unions and strengthening organisation in every workplace, we are intensifying the fight against war and the system of profit and exploitation that fuels it.
