From the docks of Genoa to the streets of France, the Spanish state, and beyond, the slogan “Let’s Block Everything” represented a rallying cry for a global working class rediscovering its power in the fight against capitalist crisis and the genocide in Palestine. On October 3, unions and protesters in Italy united under this slogan to bring the entire country to a halt in solidarity with Palestine, and in protest of Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla – and are preparing to strike again on November 28.
In the United States, with Trump’s relentless attacks on immigrants and the working class, imperialist aggression on Latin America, and the continuation of the genocide under a false “peace plan”, the working class, oppressed, and youth want to fight back. The question is in the air: what would it take to make a general strike happen here?
This hybrid panel & discussions brings together worker and student militants from across the Trotskyist Fraction – Fourth International to reflect on this emerging wave of struggle and what it reveals about the strategic possibilities of our moment. We’ll discuss how mass mobilizations and working class action for Palestine are reshaping political consciousness, how workers can push past the limits imposed by traditional leaderships, and what it means to build international links rooted in shared struggle rather than state diplomacy. At a time when the stakes of history are sharpening — and when the working class is beginning to see itself as a force capable of changing its course — we invite you to join us for a conversation on the politics, strategies, and organization needed to carry this fight forward.
