🇵🇸❗️FIRST EVENT ❗️🇵🇸

This past Saturday (5/10), MN Labor for Palestine teamed up with the Minnesota Anti-War Committee (@antiwarmn) to put on our inaugural event!

‘Labor Demands Divestment’ was incredibly well attended, with audience members (both union and non-union) from all walks of life who came together to learn and discuss what working people in Minnesota can do to work towards divestment from Israeli apartheid, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.

The teach-in segment of the event was delivered by Brian and Lina, members of the MN Anti-War Committee, and focused on the role of the MN State Board of Investments in funneling Minnesota’s public sector workers’ pensions into companies and entities that profit from the oppression of Palestinian people, war crimes, and illegal land theft.

Following the presentation, audience members had a chance to hear from several public sector union members (listed below) on the initiatives being taken in their respective locals in solidarity with Palestine and the struggles and successes involved in doing this work. The attendance was great, audience members brought excellent questions for the panel and we will surely be putting on more of these events in the future. If you are interested in working with us in your union or workplace, please reach out either through DM or email (mnlaborforpalestine@gmail.com). More information at Linktree in bio.

Thank you to @mftlocal59 for welcoming us into your space and providing support in what is a very busy time. Come to MFT/MFE’s open bargaining sessions to support Minneapolis public educators, the next one is this Thursday at 5:00!
