On Thursday, 12/18/25, HCW 4 Palestine returned to the Oakland Port Commission for the fifth consecutive meeting to demand an arms embargo NOW. We refuse to stay silent in the face of an ongoing genocide. Oakland must cut the supply chain of death.
Outside, 300+ community members rallied. Inside, 30+ speakers raised their voices—joined by labor leaders from SEIU 1021, CNA, and ILWU leader Clarence Thomas, alongside Berkeley City Council representative Cecilia Lunapara. This was solidarity in action.
From port workers to healthcare workers, labor is not just the workforce—we are the community. And together, we stood as the people of Oakland to demand an end to the transport of weapons used to kill our people.
As healthcare workers, we will continue to stand with Palestine. We will continue to remind our commissioners who they work for. The people of Oakland have spoken—and we are clear: arms embargo now.
