🚨 BREAKING: Microsoft workers lead major action at company HQ outside Seattle, WA, demanding Microsoft cut ties with Israel @noazureforapartheid

Current & former tech workers at Microsoft have joined with community members to establish a “liberated zone” encampment at Microsoft HQ in solidarity with Palestinians facing genocide. Moments ago, workers & protestors walked out to Microsoft’s East Campus Plaza to establish a “Liberated Zone” encampment, renaming the plaza to “The Martyred Palestinian Children’s Plaza.”

From the organizers’ press release: “This action is in response to Microsoft’s ongoing partnership with the Israeli military and the recent news of Microsoft technology being used to surveil, starve, and kill Palestinians This action marks the biggest escalation targeting Microsoft following multiple investigations that exposed the company’s deep ties to the Israeli military. Recent reporting by the Guardian and +972 News revealed Microsoft cloud storage services are being used to surveil Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank by collecting and storing recordings of millions of mobile phone calls and texts made each day by Palestinians. The investigations included testimonies of how the surveillance data is being used to directly target Palestinians in Gaza and even retroactively justify extrajudicial killings in the West Bank.

‘In Anas Al-Sharif’s will and last message to us, he called on us to ‘not to let chains silence [us], nor borders restrain [us],’ said Nisreen Jaradat, Microsoft worker and organizer with No #Azure for Apartheid. Jaradat added, ‘Microsoft is the most complicit digital arms manufacturer in Israel’s genocide of Gaza, and Microsoft workers are refusing to contribute even a second more of our labor to the Holocaust of our time.'”
