🚨 Entertainment Labor for Pal*estine is devastated by Israel’s murder of Fatima Hassouneh, a Pal*estinian photojournalist and protagonist of the Cannes-selected film “Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk.”

We call on the Cannes Film Festival, filmmakers, and entertainment unions to:

🎯Honor Fatima at the festival and beyond
🎯Condemn Israel’s targeted killing of journalists and artists
🎯Economically pressure Israel & the US to end the gen*cide through B DS and other actions.

Fatima is one of over 200 journalists kil*ed by Israel since October 7, 2023, the highest number in any modern conflict, including WWII.

This follows Israel’s abduction and detention of Hamdan Ballal, a director of the Oscar-winning documentary “No Other Land.” These actions violate international law and set a dangerous precedent.

As Trump joins Israel in silencing critics by using ICE to deport academics without due process, there must be a clear rebuke of this kind of deadly repression. @association_acid’ statement for Fatima was a good first step.

Tag @festivaldecannes and @association_acid and tell them to take a clear and strong stance by honoring Fatima during their festival. The kill*ng and silencing of storytellers must stop!
