Rank-and-file union members 💪💪 have been fighting for resolutions in their chapters to put an end 🛑 to the g*n*c*de of the P@lestinian 🇵🇸 people, but these efforts are either not finding support or are being outright blocked 👎 by union leadership. That is why right now, there’s an urgent ‼️ petition for AFL-CIO leadership to meet the following demands:
1️⃣ Recognize Isr@el’s campaign in G@za as g*n*c*de under international law.
2️⃣Condemn the abduction and assault of Chris Smalls aboard the G@za aid flotilla and demand an independent international investigation.
3️⃣ Affirm that attacks on workers anywhere are attacks on all workers.
4️⃣ Recognize Isr@el as an apartheid state, consistent with determinations made by Amnesty International, the Human Rights Watch, the UN, and B’Tselem – Isr@eli Information Center for Human Rights in the 0ccupied Terr1tories.
5️⃣ Take direct action: Refuse to ship w*apons, cut ties with w*r profiteers, and mobilize union power to end g*n*c*de.
On October 24th at 12PM, we’re delivering this petition to AFL-CIO HQ in D.C., 815 Black Lives Matter Plaza, as part of a national day of action. We’d love for you to join us if you can.
There are 4️⃣ ways you can support:
1️⃣ Sign the petition!
2️⃣ Bring this to your union chapter and endorse the petition.
3️⃣ Share it with your networks to help spread the word across labor.
4️⃣ If possible, come to D.C. on 10/24 to deliver these demands with us.
