The library continues to censor pro-Palestinian voices in the name of neutrality. Live From NYPL did not celebrate Arab American Heritage Month or host a Palestinian author. Yet, this Jewish American Heritage Month, the library hosts Chuck Schumer—married to NYPL’s COO Iris Weinshall—TO JUSTIFY THE EXTERMINATION OF PALESTINIANS.
Schumer has received money from pro-Israel lobbies like AIPAC and his book parrots their talking points, promoting the false narrative that speaking out against the genocide of Palestinians is antisemitic.
Since Schumer’s book was published in March, Israel has killed at least 3,900 people in Gaza and imposed a blockade resulting in mass starvation, while America illegally arrests and deports pro-Palestinian students and academics.
THESE DISGRACEFUL CONDITIONS ARE ENABLED BY SCHUMER’S CORRUPT LEADERSHIP AND WHITEWASHED IN THE BOOK NYPL NOW SPOTLIGHTS.
Schumer and Weinshall are millionaires using the library to get richer and spread hate — all while library workers struggle to pay bills and face
censorship from library administration.
