Today in Idhna—as across the West Bank, Gaza, and all of historic Palestine—life for Palestinians is a living nightmare. Part of an accelerated effort to “annex” the West Bank to the Israeli state and to ethnically cleanse the Palestinian population there, the small village just south of the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) is daily invaded and terrorized by settlers, in full view and with the support of the Israeli Occupation Forces. Villagers such as our union sibling Imad Temeiza are daily assaulted, their properties are vandalized, their livestock are killed, and their crops are burnt. Life has become impossible for Palestinians in the West Bank, as they struggle simply to survive.

On the 10th of August, 2026, Imad’s union, the Palestinian Postal Services Workers Union (PPSWU), issued an emergency appeal to trade unions and labor federations around the world to ACT NOW against escalating Zionist settler-colonial violence. The current wave of Israeli state violence–aided and abetted by the government of the United States–is the culmination of what Palestinian historian Rashid Khalidi has called the “hundred years’ war on Palestine.” It is part of the same machine of racism, ethnic cleansing, war, and genocide terrorizing workers and oppressed people around the world, from Palestine, to Iran and Lebanon, to Venezuela, to ICE death camps here at home.

Labor for Palestine and the Coalition for Action in Higher Education stand in solidarity with Imad and the PPSWU. We call on all US labor bodies to endorse the PPSWU emergency appeal. Further, we call on US labor to respect the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) picket line by:

An Injury to Palestine Is An Injury to All!
