[Labor for Palestine endorses the following statement]
Urgent Appeal from the Palestinian Postal Service Workers Union نقابة العاملين في الخدمات البريدية to Trade Unions Worldwide:
Today, 24 July 2026, the Palestinian town of Tell, west of Nablus, witnessed another tragic escalation. Armed settlers attacked the area, followed by a large-scale military operation that resulted in the deaths and injuries of Palestinian civilians and the closure of roads leading to Nablus and nearby villages. This is not an isolated incident. It reflects a growing pattern of violence against Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Postal Services Workers Union urgently calls on trade unions around the world to act. Palestinian workers, their families, and their communities are facing daily attacks, restrictions on movement, destruction of property, and constant fear. Many can no longer reach their workplaces, farms, schools, or medical services safely.
Settler violence has become systematic. Homes, vehicles, farms, and olive groves are attacked. Palestinian families are prevented from accessing their land. Entire communities live under constant threat, while accountability remains absent.
The seriousness of this situation was highlighted when U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna was confronted by Israeli settlers during his recent visit to Ramallah. If an elected member of the United States Congress can be subjected to intimidation, it demonstrates the level of impunity that now exists on the ground.
Our colleague, Imad Temiza, a leader of our union from the town of Idhna near Hebron, represents the reality faced by thousands of Palestinian families. His family has endured repeated settler attacks on their agricultural land, threats, destruction of crops, and severe restrictions on movement. Their experience is not unique. It reflects the daily reality of many Palestinian workers who simply wish to live and work in peace.
We therefore call upon trade unions across the world to:
Publicly condemn the ongoing attacks against Palestinian civilians.
Urge your governments and parliaments to take immediate action to stop settler violence and ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians.
Call on the United Nations and the international community to provide effective international protection for Palestinian communities.
Send trade union delegations to witness the situation firsthand.
Support legal and human rights efforts to ensure accountability for violations of international law.
Trade unions have always defended justice, human dignity, and the rights of working people. Today, Palestinian workers urgently need your solidarity.
Silence encourages further violence. Your voice can help protect lives and uphold the principles of justice and international law.
