At a panel at SFSU on 4/23/26 with Columbia Palestinian UAW 2710 former member Mahmoud Khalil, a speaker called for the UAW Region 6 and UAW 4811 to rescind their endorsement of San Francisco Democrat and Zionist supporter Scott Wiener who is running for Congress. UCSF UPTE CWA member Lisa Milos asked Khalil about the endorsement of hardcore Zionist Scott Wiener and business unionism. Wiener is now being supported by UAW Region 6 and UAW 4811 leadership. Wiener has supported the genocide in Gaza and supports continued economic and military funding of Israel. He also pushed AB 715 which prevents teachers in California from discussing Palestine in their classrooms and says that criticism of Israel is anti-semitism. Khalil said that the issue of business unionism was a similar problem at Columbia University in New York City.
