SHAME ON DI$NEY: Di*ney’s live-action Snow White has become the studio’s lowest-grossing remake. As a result, Di*ney insiders, including the son of producer Marc Platt, have publicly targeted lead actress Rachel Zegler (a vocal supporter of Palestinian rights) for blame, while deflecting scrutiny from co-star Gal Gadot, who faces backlash for supporting Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
Gadot’s attempts to justify Israel’s war-crimes in Gaza prompted the Palestinian-led BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) to urge a boycott of Di*ney’s Snow White. The worldwide movement has previously reduced profits for brands like Starbucks and McDonalds.
While the pro-Palestine movement can’t take sole credit for the film’s failure— it’s said to be a genuinely a bad film and production managed to offend plenty of other groups along the way, the fact remains, mass boycotts for this film took place because of Gadot, not Zegler.
Stop the smear campaigns — Snow White’s box office disaster sends only one clear message: genocide is bad for business.
