Giving public comment, a professor from from Los Rios Community College district highlighted how Elbit Systems–which CalSTRS has $15 million invested in–directly arms the Israeli military in it’s genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in West Bank.
As educators, we dedicate our lives to hope, life and a future for all. Our pension must reflect our values. Genocide, scholasticide, and 20,000 children killed have no place in our retirement fund.
CalSTRS:
Divest now–from Elbit Systems, Palantir, Caterpillar, Lockheed Martin, Israeli banks and bonds, and all of the $2.7 billion in entities that profit from Israel’s genocide in Gaza. All of these investments are violations of CalSTRS’s ESG policies.
